Still alive and kicking

So, we’ve been a bit too quiet lately. That’s partly my fault, and partly because we’ve been busy working on our next port. I’m pleased to inform you that we now have a working build of it in internal alpha testing, and we should open applications to the beta test “soon” (for sufficiently vague values of “soon”). We’re also working on a few other things that we should be announcing in the near future.

Meanwhile, feel free to contact me with any questions or feedback you have (other than “what’s the port?” that is, because I won’t be able to tell you that yet, no matter how hard you try :).

If you have any input, suggestions or questions for me, feel free to ask them here in the comments, on IRC (Zero_Dogg in #lgp on irc.freenode.net), via identi.ca/twitter or via e-mail (to eskild at the domain linuxgamepublishing dot com).

I hope this “next port” will be Sacred 2.

      I hope so, too :)

Sadly, the only way you might see Sacred 2 is if they obtained the rights before Ascaron shuttered it’s doors- and even then, it’d be a bit of a challenge as you’d have to find the end rights holders to pay them and that can be…interesting…to say the least. Unfortunately, unless this comes to pass, your best bet for Sacred 2 is to consider the PS3 version which CDV owns the rights to and is still selling units for.

Hey, I have a question. What game are you …. oh. Right. Well, I am curious what it is.

Well, I have another one. Have you considered making an online downloadable game service thingy for Linux that the flood of Indies could take advantage of? Specifically something attractive to the Steam/App Store crowd that’s not Ubuntu specific?

It’s good to see you alive :-)

Been trying to email you for ages, your email account refuses emails from me? Has your account actually been setup properly Eskild?

  6. Hamish Paul WIlson says:

Me thinks Eddward should take a good, hard, long look a Desura.

So good to know this. I was getting worried!

  8. Thomas R says:

Nice :) so where can one register as beta-tester? :)

    X3: Terran Conflict?

What’s your opinion on the open 3D drivers? Is there any chance of getting accepted as a beta tester for users of these drivers?

At the moment all of the LGP titles (at least the ones with demo versions available) run on the open drivers, so it would be nice to continue in this fashion.

Looking forward to the new port! :]

Good news to see you guys are still working.

But come on, why announce that you are starting to port another title, when Bandits: Phoenix Rising, and Disciples 2: Dark Prophecy have been in the works forever and a day.

I guess I’m just impatient about Bandits. We’ve been eagerly waiting on this title.

Hopefully taking on this new project won’t slow/stop the progress on the other two titles.

A little more communication from you guys would be fabulous. Perhaps a weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly post would be nice.

I hope it will work fine for 64 bit OS.

  13. Nath says:

I hope it is the game you have been porting for a long time now and for which I’ve been waiting just as long.

  14. Max says:

It’s good to see a sign of life from you folks.
And I’m looking forward to the announcement of the new port, no matter what it’ll eventually be.

Very nice to hear, that you’re still working :D

Have you thought about working together with Desura and the Ubuntu Software-Center to sell your Games?

And is there maybe any way for you to pick up the work on the games that Loki Software have ported again, and bring them back to the shops?
