Today we have released patches for X³: Reunion, X²: The Threat, Sacred: Gold and Jets’n'Guns, to address issues with sound, and issues with some Linux kernel changes. These patches also fix the problem mentioned in the last customer service update. Use the lgp_update tool to update your games. Other games will be receiving patches as they become available.
Updated 26th of August: Patch for Jets’n'Guns released
This is great news! Thanks.
Can you fix Launcher in Cold War?
Yes, that’s currently being looked at.
Good job mate, thanks!
Thanks LGP. Patch for X² works – Patch for X³ doesn’t work. Bugreport will be send via E-Mail.
Is it also possible to update the updater/uninstaller – seems to be linked to a rather old gtk – can’t get it running under Ubuntu Lucid.
We are aware of this issue with the uninstaller, but don’t quite have an ETA for a patch. Meanwhile you can use the libs at http://staff.linuxgamepublishing.com/~eskild/libgtk/gtk-libs-32-bare.tar.bz2 (extract to a directory, then LD_LIBRARY_PATH= to that directory before running the uninstaller).
The updater does not have this issue though, it is statically linked and should just work regardless. Make sure you have the latest version installed – 1.0.13.lgp1 (see lgp_update –version).
I’ve yet to test the openal fix. (I circumvented the problem by using libopenal.so.1.11.753 from Fedora 11 instead of the original LGP supplied openal library… all of this helped me restore 5.1 functionality on my Fedora 13/x86_64 machine…)
Never the less, a new problem appeared – nVidia driver v256.53 completely breaks textures under X3 – making the scenery, ships and stations all go black and white. Switching back to 195.xx solves the problem.
FWIW, I’m on dual Xeon L5530 / 12GB / 470GTX / F13 / x86_64.
Am I the only one seeing this?
