What I find amazing is that 3000 people will apply for beta-testing, but there is still plenty of the 500 limited edition X3 copies floating around :/
It is almost as if most of those people have no intention to purchase a copy?

Here's a quick question that is a little bit off-topic. Is it better for LGP if I purchase a game through a reseller (i.e. Tuxgames) or if I purchase directly through LGP?

Thanks for this explanation of how to become a beta tester, I think it was described on the mailing list some time back too, however this in depth explanation has it all and in a simple way.
I'm impressed by the actual simple system, and I hope that there will be many more titles which needs to go through this.

The pre-ordering is open for any country.

As for the first comment, yes we take that into account. In a game where there are few if any bugs we take this into account, as, you are right, it wouldn't be fair.

Is this pre-order thing for beta-testing only valid in England or any county (Germany in my case)?

It seems a little harsh to punish beta testers who don't report any bugs. I was part of the beta test for Jets'n'Guns, and I didn't report any bugs because, quite simply, I didn't find any during testing, everything seemed to work perfectly.

Jets'n'Guns is awesome, by the way. I encourage anyone who likes old school side scrolling shooters to buy it.
